The Fishing Museum, located in Palamós, is a museum inaugurated in 2002 dedicated to the knowledge and dissemination of fishing and the maritime and fishing heritage of the Costa Brava. It is in the area of the fishing port of Palamós in the old port warehouse called «Tinglado». The permanent exhibition is divided into areas where the history, present and future of Costa Brava fishing are explained in terms of sustainability. The Museu de la Pesca has five related dissemination projects: Les Barques del Peix, l’Espai del Peix, Documare: a documentation center for fishing and the sea, and the Chair of Maritime Studies at the University of Girona.
