What to see in L’Estartit?

The village of L’Estartit is small in size, but of immense interest. The heart of this village is the Placa de la Vila, on which the church of Santa Ana is located. Starting from the church, a pedestrian shopping street leads down to the port area of L’Estartit.

Along the seafront you will find a pleasant promenade of about 2.5 km dotted with many restaurants with sunny terraces and beach bars, perfect locations for sipping a good cocktail.

The shopping street of Santa Ana, located in the old town of l’Estartit, is home to many clothing stores and souvenir shops as well as bars and restaurants.

If you are interested in culture and history, head to the medieval town of Torroella de Montgrí, a picturesque village overlooking the thirteenth-century Montgrí Castle.

One of the main tourist attractions of L’Estartit is its 9 km of coastline, where spectacular coves and crystal clear waters are nestled. Fans of swimming and sunbathing will be delighted with the 5 km of sandy beaches and very shallow waters, perfect for the whole family! 

Not far from the village overlooks the summit of Rocamaura. It is here that the Montgrí massif is born which extends inland for eight kilometers, separating the region of the Alt and the Baix Empordà. Many possibilities for cycling or walking excursions are offered to visitors of all levels.

For fans of water sports, the Yacht Club de L’Estartit offers various activities suchas – boat rental, water skiing, sea excursions for the whole family, fishing, scuba diving, kayaking, sailing and snorkeling.

For those who prefer to be on dry land, there are many hiking routes from L’Estartit. Some excursions start with the ascent of the Rocamaura mountain or along the coast visiting the Montgrí Natural Park.
